Day 01 | Arrival in the City of Martyrdom (Smyrna)

Upon arrival at Izmir Airport, you will be met by the Let’s Aegean team and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, we visit the St. Polycarp Church. As you stand in one of the oldest functioning churches in the world, we reflect on the life of Polycarp, a disciple of John the Apostle, who was martyred here for his unwavering faith.

Day 02 | Pergamum: The Throne of Satan & Thyatira

We journey north to the Acropolis of Pergamum, described in Revelation as the place "where Satan has his throne." We will explore the Altar of Zeus and the Great Library, witnessing the clash between Roman imperial cults and early Christian resilience. Later, we visit the ruins of Thyatira, the city of Lydia the Purveyor of Purple, to discuss the challenges of the early church amidst the Roman trade guilds.

Day 03 | Sardis: The Golden Capital & Philadelphia

Today explores the grandeur of the Lydian Kingdom at Sardis. We visit the massive Temple of Artemis and the beautifully preserved Synagogue, reflecting on the "spiritually dead" church of Sardis. We then proceed to Philadelphia, the "City of Brotherly Love," the only church along with Smyrna that received no criticism from Christ, representing the faithful remnant.

Day 04 | Hierapolis & The Lukewarm Church of Laodicea

We travel to the spectacular white terraces of Pamukkale to visit Hierapolis, where the Apostle Philip was martyred. The highlight is Laodicea, a wealthy commercial crossroads. We will examine the sophisticated water system of the city to understand the biblical metaphor of being "neither hot nor cold," but lukewarm.

Day 05 | Ephesus: The First Love & St. John’s Legacy

A profound day at Ephesus, the most significant of the Seven Churches. We walk the ancient marble streets where Paul preached for three years. Beyond the Library of Celsus, we visit the Terrace Houses, the Ephesus Museum, and the Basilica of St. John, the final resting place of the "Beloved Disciple." We reflect on the letter to the Ephesians regarding their "first love."

Day 06 | Departure from the Aegean

Following breakfast, we provide a private transfer to Izmir Airport. You leave with a deeper understanding of the Greco-Roman world and the footsteps of the Apostles that shaped the foundation of faith.
